Ain Al Sheria Geological Trail – Guided Hike in Fujairah

0
  • 7 KM
  • Easy to Moderate
  • 10 Jan
  • 2:30 pm

Detail

Color-changing rock layers • Year‑round spring • Ancient petroglyph stop • Small guided group

Ain Al Sheria is one of Fujairah’s most iconic geology-focused hikes. You’ll walk through dramatic mountain corridors where rock layers shift in color as you move deeper into the range — the reason it’s known as the Geological Trail.”

Before we start the ascent, we pass the Ain Al Sheria spring, a rare year‑round water source in the area.

A key highlight is the optional stop at Ghar Khail, an archaeological rock-art (petroglyph) site linked to the route.

Why people love this trail?

  1. Multicolored rock formations + striking geological layers
  2. Ain Al Sheria spring (photo stop + refill area depending on conditions)
  3. Ancient petroglyph viewing (Ghar Khail area)
  4. Big views over Fujairah’s mountain villages from higher sections
  5. A “real adventure” feel without technical climbing (intermediate fitness required)

This hike balances light adventure with comfort and steady pacing.

  4. Plenty of “stop-and-look” moments because of the geology

Geology moment

You’ll see layers formed over time, including complex rock types that give the mountains their shifting colors — from green to grey and red tones — and geological deposits like chert/flint found in the region.
